Description of type 1 diabetes?
when the body’s own immune system is activated to destroy the beta cells in the pancreas that produce insulin which lowers blood sugar levels.
Description of type 2 diabetes?
the body becomes resistant to the normal effects of insulin and gradually loses the capacity to produce enough insulin in the pancreas.
Description of hyperthyroidism?
when the thyroid is overactive and makes too much thyroxine.
Description of hypothyroidism?
when the thyroid is under-active and doesn’t make enough thyroxine
