What is the first section?
Unauthorized access to computer material (Section 1):
Explanation: It’s illegal to access someone else’s computer or data without permission.
Example: Hacking into someone’s email account without their consent.
What is the second section?
Unauthorized access with intent to commit or facilitate commission of further offenses (Section 2):
Explanation: It’s illegal to access someone else’s computer with the intention of committing more crimes.
Example: Breaking into a company’s database to steal customer information and sell it online.
What is the Third section?
Unauthorized acts with intent to impair the operation of a computer (Section 3):
Explanation: It’s illegal to cause harm or disruption to computer systems.
Example: Launching a virus or malware that crashes a website or network.
What is the 3A section?
Making, supplying, or obtaining articles for use in offenses under sections 1, 3, or 3ZA (Section 3A):
Explanation: It’s illegal to create, distribute, or possess tools or software used for hacking or committing cybercrimes.
Example: Developing and selling software designed specifically to bypass security measures on computers.
What is the 3ZA section?
Unauthorized acts causing or creating risk of serious damage through unauthorized computer misuse
Explanation: Similar to Section 3A, but extends to cover offenses under Sections 1 and 3 as well.
Example: Releasing Radioactivity, Major Power Outages
