Q

What’s the drive theory

A

Arousal performance is linear. Arousal increases so does performance. The more learned a skill is the more likely arousal will lead to a better performance

Q

What is the inverted u hypothesis

A

It was born out of limitations of drive theory. It stayed that performance levels will be at their highest at optimal arousal levels but when too low or too high performance will be lower

A

Suggests somatic and cognitive anxiety can affect performance in differen ways. Generally cognitive anxiety is thought to decrease performance , while somatic thought to enhance performance

19
Q
