16
Q

what is an example of positive feedback within the coastal system

A

coastal management can increase erosion further down the coast (e.g groynes trap sediment, which deprives areas further down the coast), which means that more coastal management is put in place which in turn increases erosion

17
Q

what is negative feedback

A

where a flow / transfer leads to a decrease or decline

18
Q

give an example of negative feedback within the coastal system

A

excessive weathering and erosion leads to the erosion of the cliff face, and causes scree to gather at the bottom. This acts as a barrier, which reduces erosion.
