What is aldosterone known for?
Regulating levels of salt in the blood.
excess aldosterone —> excess salt retained in the body and potassium lost —-> high blood pressure and low potassium.
What is conn’s syndrome?
tumour on adrenal cortex leading to excess aldosterone being produced.
What is “TIPPS”?
T - talk with the patient on causes of perio and discuss any barriers to effective plaque removal.
I- instruct patient on best ways to remove plaque
P- practice cleaning teeth and using interdental brushes in the clinic.
P - plan how they will incorporate oral hygiene daily.
S- support the patient by following up at subsequent visits.
What is most likely to lead to excessive post-extraction bleeding?
excessive alcohol intake
reduces coagulation factors

Drug induced
