factors that affect climate
- Distance form the equator
- Ocean currents
- Wind direction
- Elevation (distance from sea level)
- Distance from large bodies of water.
name the climate zones
polar, tropical, temperate, dry, warm
polar features
very cold winters, usually below freezing point
tropical features
hot temperatures, high humididty all year long,
temperate features
wide range of temperatures all year round, 40 latitude and 60 longitude
dry features
rainfall is irregular, flora and fauna adapt to water scarcity
warm features
precipitation is well distrubuted and heavy through out the year, distinct summer and winter

tundra biome, arctic plants
