What is the biosphere?
The volume of Earth’s surface where organisms can be found. It is the entire Earth’s surface.
What are biomes?
Biomes are classified areas that make up the biosphere. They are classified from their vegetation types. E.g. on deserts.
What is an ecosystem?
An ecosystem is a part of a biome that has a characteristic set of plants, animals and microbes.
What is a community?
The different species that live in the same habitat at the same time. It refers to organisms of a particular kind. E.g. all of the woodlice living under a rock.
What is a population?
Ecosystems and communities contain population of species.
What is an organism/individual?
The adaptations of an individual organism to its environment.
What is a habitat?
Locations where different species live.
What is interdependence?
It is the dependance of every life form on other living things.
What are biotic factors?
Factors that are living.
What are abiotic factors?
Factors that are not-living.
