What is the Establishment Clause?
The government will not create or support a church
What is the Free Exercise Clause?
The right to practice any or no religion
What is the freedom of petition? And what other rights are protected in this amendment?
Formal request, usually written and signed by a group, to someone in authority. 1st amendment protects religion, press, assembly, and speech
What is the second amendment?
The right to bare arms..has caused controversy because there’s no militia
What determines whether the government may search your home? What amendment is this?
Probable cause to search and seizure

What is the fifth amendment?
Right to no double jeapordy, no self incrimination, a grand jury, eminent domain, habeas corpus and due process
What is due process?
Prohibit the government to take away a citizens life liberty or property without a legal step by step process
What does a speedy and public trial mean? What amendment is this?
The trial may only last 90 days to accuse them and can be seen on the media. 6th amendment
What is the Supreme Court standard on cruel and unusual punishment? And what amendment is that?
No necessary infliction of pain. Protected by the eighth amendment.
What is the right to compel witnesses
They can make them testify in a jury
What is ex post facto?
If someone does something legally and then there is a law passed that makes it illegal they cannot punish them for it
What is the 14th amendment?
Equal protection under the law
What is the 15th amendment?
The right to vote with no color restrictions
What is the 19th amendment?
The right to vote without gender restrictions. Women’s right to vote
What is the 26th amendment?
You have to be at least 18 years old to vote
