Abnormal increase in number of RBCs

Abnormal decrease in number of RBCs
What is leukemia?
A cancer of the tissue that forms WBCs, which leads to fast formation of WBCs and decline of RBCs
What is leukopenia?
Abnormal decrease in the number of WBCs
Define Phagocytosis
Engulfing of particle-like solid substances
Define diapedesis
Migration of the leucocytes through walls of blood vessels to reach germs.
What is pus?
Dead white blood cells combined with damaged cells due to the infection
What is serum?
The clear liquid part of plasma squeezed out during clotting
What is haemophilia?
A genetic disorder in which blood does not clot properly
What is the pericardium?
The double walled membranous covering around the heart filled with pericardial fluid
Why do ventricles have thicker walls?
To pump blood across long distances
