Transport (red blood cells carry oxygen) and protection (white blood cells)
Arteries ?
Thick walls, narrow lumen,no valves, carry blood away from heart.
Veins ?
Thin walls, wide lumen, valves, carry blood to the heart.
Capillaries ?
Link arteries and veins. Walls are one cell thick, which allows for passage of materials.
Cardiac muscle ?
Muscle in the heart, that never tires .
Four chambers of the heart ?
Right and left atria, right and left venticles.
Left ventricle?
Thick wall because it pumps blood all around the body.
