circle theorems Flashcards
If somebody chose 2 random points on a circle and then drew lines from both of them to a) the centre and also b) to the same other random point, what would the relationship between the two angles created be?
The angle at the centre would be twice the angle at the circumference.
If you chose two point on the circumference of a circle, proceeded to draw a line between them, and then connected up the two dots via lines on some other part of the circle… what can you tell me about that angle?
Any angle that is made in the same segment (the same side of the og line) then those angles are gonna be equal.
Opposite angles in a cyclic quadrilateral will equal?
180 degrees
What is a cyclic quadralateral?
It’s just a four sided shade with the vertices being on the circumference of the circle.
What angle must you bisect a chord at the run through the centre of the circle?
90
At what part of a chord must you go perpendicularly as to bump into the centre of the circle?
The middle of it
What creates 90 degrees with a tangent?
A radius
What can you tell me about two non parallel tangeants?
Their lengths between circle touch and touching each other are going to be the same.
Bro, i have no clue how to explain this but search up or otherwise find “alternate segment theorem”. Good luck.
Ok, I promise that i will otherwise double check/ properly learn about this difficult to explain with words theorem.
