Adds meaning to a scene + encourages viewer to read scene in a particular way

A
- Base of camera remains static, head rotates horizontally left + right
- Means viewers need to notice details/characters in that scene

- Base stays still, but head moves vertically up/down
- Means viewer may have been positioned as a character in film, looking up/down building or a character

When a camera moves in, out, or sideways to follow action
