A

C. King Henry VIII (England)

King Henry VIII of England was a Roman Catholic. He wanted the Pope Clement VII to annul(end) his marriage to Katherine of Aragon. Pope refused, Henry broke away from the Roman Catholic Church to form the Church of England (Anglican).

An annulment should not be granted just because Katherine could not get pregnant which meant that the King could not have an heir to the throne.
Today the Anglican and Catholic Church are fundamentally the same.
