Set structure

What is Non-Liturgical Worship?
In Church, has hymns and prayers but no set order or number
What is Informal Worship?
Some is silent (Quakers)
Some is charismatic - clapping, dancing
What is private worship?
Worshipping God alone or with a small group in their own way.
Why is liturgical worship important? Give 2
- Worldwide service that is familiar to all Christians, always following a set pattern giving a sense of community
- Important rituals such as Holy Communion take place regularly.
- Led by a priest that can share knowledge in a routine way
Why is non-liturgical worship important?
- Sermons can change to suit world events.
- Rituals like the holy communion can still take place – just not as often
- A vicar can still lead the congregation and share knowledge and teachings
Why is informal worship important?
- People can share their ideas and thoughts, a more personal experience.
- Variety of ways so people can find one that suits them
- People can take an active part in prayers and read things important to them
- More of a personal connection with God
Why is private worship important?
A person can choose how they want to worship
Develops a personal relationship with God
Can be done at any time

What is the Baptism a Sacrament for?
The Baptism is a sacrament used to remove human sinful nature – to be cleansed from the original sin (Adam and Eve).
It reaffirms the Trinity “In the name of the Father, the Son, and the
Holy Spirit”
What is the Eucharist/ Holy Communion/ Mass/ Lord’s Supper sacrament for?
The Eucharist is related to the Last Supper where Jesus shared
bread and wine with his disciples (followers). Spiritual
Sacrament focused on Jesus’ Sacrifice, his blood and body.

What is the Alpha Course?
An example of evangelism in Britain.
Started in London by an Anglican Priest. Its aim was to help church members understand the basics of Christianity. Courses are held in homes, workplaces, universities, prisons, churches.
Christian beliefs about Jesus’ reconciliation?
Humans broke the relationship with God due to SIN.
Jesus’ sacrifice helped to rebuild and restore the relationship.
Jesus atoned for human sin
So humans can be forgiven and can go to heaven

Festival celebrates birth of Jesus Christ who was both fully God and fully human.
Christmas celebrated Jesus as the founder of the religion

Celebration reminds Christians about Jesus and has become a time of giving - relating to the gifts of the three wise men.
