What are the acquired causes of cholsteatoma?
Secondary to attic perforation in chronic suppurative OM
How does cholesteatoma present?
Foul smelling white discharge
Headache
Pain
CN involvement
What symptoms might result from CN involvement in cholsteatoma?
Vertigo
Deafness
Facial paralysis
What is found on examination in cholsteatoma?
Appears pearly white with surrounding inflammation
what appears pearly white? who knows not me
What are the complications of cholsteatoma?
Deafness
Meningitis
Cerebral abscess
How can cholsteatoma cause deafness?
Ossicle destruction
How is cholsteatoma managed?
Surgery
