Q

Feels like temperature

A
  • corrects anemometer to face level.
  • assumes skin is dry.
  • it is an index so technically should not have a degree sign.
  • calculated using JAG/TI method.
  • Assumes no impact from sun e.g. clear sky
  • No humidity data used

Q

JAG/TI formula

A

Wind chill = 13.1 + (0.6 x Air temp) - (11.4 x (V^0.16)) + (0.4 x Air temp x (V^0.16))

where V = wind speed at 10m (kph)

Q

JAG/TI limitations

A

very low winds speeds cause reverse wind chill

wind chill around 28C causes issues.
