What to do first?
Remove client from chemical and begin to flush
How long to flush with chemical burn?
15-30 min!!
What are two wounds with electrical burns?
Entry (small wound)
Exit (large wound)
First thing to do for electrical injury?
Hook up to cardiac monitor and monitor for V-fib
Monitor 24 hours!
What is the big arrhythmia for electrical burn?
V-fib
With electrical burns, what can build up and cause kidney damage?
Myoglobin and hemoglobin
Why would electrical burn pt be placed on spine board with a c-collar
Lots of these burns occur in high places
*muscle contractions can cause fractures and the force of the electricity can throw victim
