- Compulsive are repetitive compelled to repeat a behaviour
- Compulsions reduce anxiety
- Avoidance attempt to reduce anxiety by keeping away from the situations that trigger it

- Absolutist thinking when a situation is unfortunate they tend to see it as a disaster

- Disruption to sleep and eating behaviour (insomnia , hypersomnia)
