What are the 3 factors underlying initial attraction?
proximity (geologically close), familiarity (how often we see them), physical attractiveness (romantic and platonic)
What are attractive features?
baby face qualities, mature features, expressiveness, and grooming

people are attracted to those with similar levels of attractiveness
What is the parental investment theory?
mating selection is based on what each sex has to invest in the means of time, energy, and survival

males seek healthy, attractive mates/ women seek mates who can provide and protect

reciprocal self-disclosure: voluntary act of sharing information
