Avoid muscle stiffness and skin breakdown
Prevent decreased circulations which can cause muscle contractures

How often should you reposition pts?
Bed bound = q2h
Pts in w/c = q1h

Pt in a semi-sitting position
45-60 degrees

15-30 degrees
