11 and 12 years of age
- depends on wealth/affluence

around 13 to 14 years old age
- see a growth in penis and scrotum
- prostate gland and seminal vesicles enlarge
- spermarche occurs 13 years

1/5 are overweight, 1/11 are obese
What is a major contributor to obesity?
lack of exersize and eating choices
How many % of female adolescence have anorexia?
1-2%
What are physical symptoms of anorexia (5)?
- sleep disturbance
- no menstruation
- loss of hair
- low blood pressure
- variety of cardiovascular problems
What can be used to treat anorexia?
anti depressants
What is the criteria to be anorexic?
less than 85% normal weight and intense fear of getting fat
How many percentage of canadian girls have bulimia or will develop it?
3-10%
what are 4 physical manifestations of bulimia?
- tooth decay
- stomach irritation
- disturbances in body chemistry
- loss of hair
