The UK is made of: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The rest of Ireland is an independent country.

The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
Great Britain refers only to England, Scotland and Wales (not Northern Ireland)

Crown Dependencies

- Channel Islands
- Isle of Man
These are called Crown Dependencies and they have their own governments.

The UK Parliament sits in Westminster.
Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have parliaments and assemblies of their own, with devolved powers in defined areas.
