Q

Photosynthesis equation?

A

CO2 + 12 H2O + Light Energy –> C6H12O6 + 6 O2 + 6 H2O
Or
CO2 + 6 H2O + Light Energy -> C6H12O6 + 6 O2

Q

Calvin Cycle

A

Phase 1: Carbon Fixation 3 CO2 required to make G3P. 2 3-phosphoglycerate is formed making 6. Phase 2: Reduction the 6 ATP makes it 6 1,3-Biphosphoglycerate, the 6 NADPH makes it 6 G3P. 1 is released but the remaining 5 are needed to complete the cycle. Phase 3: regeneration of CO2 acceptor (RuBP) 3 ATP is used to rearrange molecule to RuBP
