Q

Electrical Method of magnetizing

A

Using Right hand grip rule
if current going up when facing you, thumb faces right thus North is right
if current going down, thumb faces left, thus North is left

Q

Iron vs Steel (and such)

A

Iron is a soft material, which means it’s easily magnetised and demagnetised. They do not retain their magnetism and are good for temporary magnets.
Steel is a hard material, which means it’s harder to magnetise and demagnetise. They retain their magnetism easily and thus are a good permanent magent
