What is the quaternary period?
The time in Earth’s history that began 2.6 million years ago and continues today
What are ice cores?
A tube of ice that is drilled out from the depth of an ice sheet
What is natural climate change?
Where the averge expected weather conditions change naturally and without human impact
What are sun spots?
A temporary dark spot on the sun’s surface caused by magnetic storms. More sunspots means more radiation admitted (hotter on earth)
What are milankovitch cycles?
Three cycles that change the amount of energy from the sun the earth receives by changeing the orbit, tilt or precession
What is the nateral greenhouse effect?
The nateral process by which earth is kept warm by gases that trap the sun’s energy in the atmosphere
What is the enhanced greenhouse effect?
The trapping of more of the sun’s energy in the atmosphere because of an increase in greenhouse gases and causing the earth’s temperatures to increase
