- asymptomatic
- more frequent on the left
- 15-20 mmHg lower brachial pressure on the ipsilateral side
- claudication is rare
- Vert A flow reversal
- surgical treatments: bypass graft or endarterectomy
- Endovascular intervention: balloon angioplasty and stenting.

What are the 6 characteristics of Takayasu’s Arteritis? (AKA Pulseless Disease)
A
- Rare autoimmune disorder
- Inflammation of Aorta walls and its branches
- symptoms: dizziness, headaches, fainting, weakness, fatigue, chest pain, hypertension, heart attack, stroke.
- more commonly in young women/teenage girls
- Diagnosed by angiography
- Treatment: steroids (prednisone)

What are the 4 characteristics of Temporal Arteritis?
A
- Inflammation of the distal superficial temporal artery
- symptoms: headaches, ipsilateral vision changes/blindness, tenderness on palpation
- Narrowed segment of the vessel w/ anechoic halo, secondary to edema
- treatment: steroids (prednisone)
