how does quota sampling work?
- population is split into groups/quotas
- sampling units arrive to fill them in
how does opportunity sampling work?
population is whatever sampling units are available

- qualitative - descriptors
- quantitative - numerical
- discrete - can take any value
- continous - only integers of ½ integers
