Name the main Cava producing town and four others.
Where are they located?
San Sadurní de Noya (Sant Sadurní d’Anoia) west of Barcelona.
Barcelona, Tarragona, Lleida, and Girona.
What is the Corpinnat?
An EU-recognized designation used by small-production Cava producers (in lieu of the Cava DO) with its own set of standards—including a delimited area within the central Penedès region and the use of organic farming.
Other requirements include hand-harvested grapes, minimum lees aging, and the use of at least 90% “historic” varieties (Xarel-lo, Macabeu, Parellada, and Malvasia for whites; Garnacha, Monastrell, Sumoll, and Xarel-lo Vermell for reds).
