Q

ENG OUT

A

Condition: engine power failure or Ng tachometer generator failure. Ng at or below 55 +/- 3%

Corrective Action: Engine power failure accompanied by an aural tone. Monitor Nr and engine instruments and enter autorotation if power failure is confirmed. If actuation of warning system is the result of tach-gen failure or speed switch failure, land as soon as practicable.

BATTERY HOT

A

Condition: battery case temperature 60 +/- 3*C or higher.

Corrective Action: BATT switch- off. Land as soon as possible.

Note- (c) switching the main battery off opens the main battery relay which causes the STBY BATT ON light to illuminate. As long as the ESS No 1 bus being powered normally, the standby battery will not be depleted.

BATTERY TEMP

A

Condition: battery case temperature is 54 +/- 3*C or higher

Corrective Action: BATT switch- off. Flight may be continued.

Note- (c) switching the main battery off opens the main battery relay which causes the STBY BATT ON light to illuminate. As long as the ESS No 1 bus being powered normally, the standby battery will not be depleted.

ENG CHIP/ CLEAR CHIP

A

Condition: metal particles on engine chip detector

Corrective Action: Engine instruments- check instruments for secondary indications of impending failure. If these indications exist, land as soon as possible. If no secondaries exist, proceed as follows:

First chip limit- press CLEAR CHIP; if light goes out, note the time and continue flight. If light remains, land as soon as possible.

Second chip light- if within than 30 minutes of the first, land as soon as possible. If more than 30 minutes have elapsed since the first light, press CLEAR CHIP and proceed as with the first light.

Third or fourth chip light- if within 50 flight hours of the first, land as soon as possible and make no attempt to clear chip. All chip lights shall be documented on a MAF.

Q

TRANS CHIP/ CLEAR CHIP

A

Condition: Metal particles on transmission chip detector or freewheeling unit.

Corrective Action: Instruments- check transmission instruments for impending failure. If these indications exist, execute imminent transmission procedures. If not secondaries indications exist proceed as follows.

First chip light- press clear chip. If TRANS CHIP light goes out note the time and continue flight. If TRANS CHIP remains, land as soon as possible.

Second chip light- if within 30 minutes of first chip light land as soon as possible. If more than 30 minutes have elapsed press CLEAR CHIP and proceed as with first light.

Any subsequent light- if within 50 flight hours of the first land as soon as possible and make no attempt to clear chip. All chip lights shall be documented on a MAF. There is no limit to the amount of chips an aircraft may have during the 50 hour winds. Remove and replace is solely driven by the size and/or material of the chip.

Q

TRANS OIL PRESS

A

Condition: transmission oil pressure at or below 30 +/- 2 psi

Corrective Action: land as soon as possible

Note- check the transmission oil pressure with the twist grip full open. Illumination of the TRANS OIL PRESS light is common while the twist grip is at flight idle. However, the gauge should indicate positive pressure.

Q

TRQ

A

Condition: flashes once per sec in transient range. Flashes twice per sec when limit is exceeded.

Corrective Action: in transient range- adjust collective as required to remain within limits. Above limit- if 100-110% five sec transient limit has been exceeded adjust the collective as required to remain within limits and check for secondaries. If 100% has been exceeded land as soon as practicable. If 120% has been exceeded land as soon as possible.

Warning- lowering the collective to avoid an over torque may create or exacerbate an unsafe flight profile. An over torque is preferable to further damage or destruction of the aircraft.

HYDRAULIC PRESSURE

A

Condition: hydraulic pressure at or below 300 psi

Corrective Action: open PCL to hydraulic system failure procedures

17
Q

BATTERY RLY (c)

A

Condition: illumination during starting is normal. At other times with BAT switch on continued illumination indicates fault in battery relay or protection circuits

Corrective Action: regain VMC and land as soon as practicable

Note- inadvertent starter engagement will illuminate the caution light

18
Q

19
Q

MAIN GEN OR GEN FAILURE

A

Condition: main generator has failed

Corrective Action: open PCL to generator failure procedures

20
Q

STBY BATT ON (c)

A

Condition: turning the main battery off, or with a battery depletion with the STBY ATT IND switch on

Corrective Action: on the ground turn the STBY ATT IND switch off

Note- the standby battery provides 1.5 hr of operation to the attitude indicator when fully charged

Condition: standby generator failure

Corrective Action: open PCL to STBY GEN FAIL procedures

22
Q

DUCT TEMP HIGH

A

Condition: excessive heat in ducting

Corrective Action: turn cabin heat valve off, turn AIR COND/FAN switch to FAN, and HI/FAN/LO switch to HI. If DUCT HIGH TEMP caution does not extinguish, land as soon as practicable
