Mechanism of Action
A
Inhibits the movement of calcium ions across the membranes of cardiac muscle cells, depressing the impulse and leading to slowed conduction, decreased myocardial contactility, and dilation of arterioles, which lowers blood pressure and decreases myocardial oxygen consumption
