What is technology?
Technology is the methods, systems and devices as a result of scientific knowledge used for practical purposes.
What is a resource?
A resource is any economic or productive factor necessary to accomplish a goal or complete a given task
How many types of technology are there?

Simple and Advanced
Simple technology is the basic plain and uncomplicated development and the use of basic tools.
Advanced technology is the new and aging IT innovations with relativley few users, yet to provide a future, significant value.
Give examples of Simple technology and res. and Advanced technology and res.
Simple- knife, brush , fork, spoon
Name the THREE types of resources.
Natural- Land
Human- Labour( production of goods and services)
Man-Made- Capital
What are natural resources?
and examples
Natural resources are resources that people get and use from the natural environment
- They are resources not on the physical earth itself but above and beneath.
E.g- Gold, bauxite, oil, iron, ponds rivers and lakes
What are two countries with natural resources?
Guyana- Timerwood, Bauxite
Jamaica- Limestone, Bauxite
Trinidad- Crude oil
Barbados- Clay
What are human resources
Personnel in a business and their ability to do physical or mental work.
Name and explain the three types of labour
Skilled- Skilled through professonial training or developed on the job
Semiskilled-Need further training to perform their task well.
Unskilled- Need no special ability to perfom tasks
What are man made resources?
Examples:
productive resources made by humans
eg: buildings mashinery, vechiles, tools
What are renewable resources?
examples?
resources that take a long time to be replenished
examples: air, water
What are non renewable resources?
examples?
resources that take a shorter time to be replenished
examples: oil, coal
