Q

Describe the unfreeze stage of Kurt Lewin’s change model.

A

This stage is concerned with changing the balance of forces that are against the change and revising the current mindset. Inertia and complacency are often negative forces identified during force-field analysis (Technique 38), which can delay or prevent the implementation of business changes. The unfreeze process needs to address these issues by helping the stakeholders to accept that the current working practices are going to change.
