Increased ICP --Cushing Triad --Pappiloedema --CN6 Palsy Focal Neurology Epileptic seizures Lethargy and Weight loss
How is Astrocytoma investigated
MRI HEAD = Locate tumour
Biopsy - Grade
Biopsy = Grade tumour
How is Astrocytoma treated
Tumour resection w/ IV Mannitol
Chemo
Why should lumbar puncture be avoided in brain tumours
Massive bleed chance
What does a grade 4 astrocytoma suggest
It is a glioblastoma (Death <1yr)
What are the features of raised icp
Cushing’s Triad
Papilloedema
CN6 Palsy
What is the cushing’s triad
Bradycardia
Raised partial pressure
Irregular breathing
