Q

process of thrombosis

A
  1. blood vessel is damaged
  2. releases thromboplastin
  3. the platelets get sticky and clump together
  4. the thromboplastin works with calcium ions, clotting factors viii and xa, and vitamin K and converts prothrombin to thrombin
  5. the thrombin enzyme catalyses the reaction between fibrinogen to fibrin
  6. the fibrin forms a mesh structure that traps red blood cells and makes a blood clot
