CRISPR-CAS9 questions:
Q2) how does CRISPR-CAS9 work?

A
  1. Scientists first identify the sequence of the human genome thats causing a health problem.
  2. Scientists create a specific guide RNA to recognize the particular stretch of bases in the DNA.
  3. The guide RNA is attached to the DNA cutting enzyme cas9 and is then introduced to the target cells.
  4. Scientists can then edit the existing genome by either modifying, deleting or inserting new sequences, making CRISPR a cit and paste tool for DNA editting.
