Sagittal plane
alice’s the body from front to back, dividing into right & left halves
Frontal plane
divided body into anterior and posterior halves
Transverse plane
divides the body into superior and inferior halves

Pennation angle
the bigger the muscle the more force better to generate, the less muscle higher shortening velocities
Concentric
muscles contracts & shortnes while generating force when lifting a weight or performing
-ex. lifting dumbbell during bicep curl
eccentric
muscle action occur when muscle lengthens while generating force. resisting a force, lowering weight
- ex. lowering squat, dumbbell, or body push up
Cross sectional area
increasing muscle size and bigger muscle producing more strength than smaller muscles
