Northern rebellion

A

The ridolfi plot

A

Ridolfi was a Catholic Italian banker who lived in London, the bottom of Mary Queen of Scots, the pope. Philip, the second of Spain, and the Duke of Norfolk. The plan was to restore Catholicism in England by assassinating Elizabeth, and putting Mary Queen of Scots on the throne, Lizabeth spy network, uncovered a plot in Norfolk was executed.

A

A plan was hatched for a French Catholic forces backed by the Spanish and papa money to invade England. This involved Elizabeth being murdered and replaced by Mary Queen of Scots during a Catholic uprising, Walsingham, Elizabeth spy, master, discovered what was happening and and arrested Francis Throckmorton, who was a go-between for Mary and the Spanish

This was another plot, involving Mary Queen of Scots Mary in the French ambassador, Sir Anthony Babington, who was Catholic had been recruited by the jesuit priests and was uncovered by Walsingham and Babington was arrested and executed for treason, Mary Queen of Scots, was put on trial and executed
