Q

What happens when you touch a hot object?

A
  1. You touch the object
  2. Stimulation of the pain is detected by the receptor
  3. Impulses travel along the sensory neurone
  4. Impulses are passed along a relay neurone, via a synapse
  5. Impulses travel along a motor neurone, via a synapse
  6. When impulses reach the muscle, it contracts

Q

Investigating reaction time

A
  1. Person 1 sits on stool, upright posture and places dominant arm across the table
  2. Person 2 holds a ruler vertically
  3. 0cm mark should be between person 1s thumb & forefinger
  4. Person 2 drops ruler at random time
  5. Person 1 catches as fast as possible
  6. Person 2 records the measurement at which person 1 caught the ruler
  7. Test is repeated several times for mean to be calculated

18
Q

What is oestrogen?

A
  • Produced in the ovaries
  • causes the lining of the uterus to grow
  • Stimulates ovulation
19
Q

What is progesterone?

A
  • Produced in the ovaries
  • Maintains the lining of the uterus during the 2nd half of the cycle
