Time and Attendance Records
Nonexempt employees are required to provide an accurate accounting of hours worked and leave used during a pay period.
Annual Leave
New full time employees will receive 10 hours of annual per month. You may use annual after 6 months of full time employment.
Annual Leave (cont.)
Annual leave that is accrued in excess of 30 days must be used by January 1st or become forfeit. If you separate from the state, you will be paid any annual you have accrued.
Sick Leave
New full time employees will earn 10 hours of sick leave per month. Sick leave can be used for injury/illness, pregnancy, doctor appointments, and death of a family member.
Catastrophic Leave
Catastrophic leave can be used if you or an immediate family member is affected by a serious illness, accident, or motor vehicle crash which is life threatening.
Leave of Absence Without Pay
Leave of absence without pay can be approved for up to one year for any satisfactory reason. Purpose usually has to be deemed beneficial to the public service.
Shift Trading
You may enter an agreement to trade shifts with another worker in your department if both workers enter the agreement voluntarily.
Reporting Absences
If you are absent from work, you are required to inform your supervisor for the reason and must record your absence on your timesheet.
