Astronomy Flashcards
How long is a light year?
A lightyear is about eaqual to just under 10 trillion killometers.
What is an astronomical unit?
A unit of measurement about the same or less or greater than to 149.6 million kilometers, distance from the center of the earth to the center of the sun.
How do you define a parsec?
a measurement that is used in astronomy to describe a large distance
A nebula is a cloud of gas and dust in outer space that can be visible form earth at night it is veiwed as a indistinct bright patch in the sky

Gas giant planet is a planet made of mostly gas for expamle Jupiter saturn and uranus are gian gas planets
An asteriod where are they located?
An asteriod is a small rocky body that orbits the sun
a astronomer who studies the evolution of space and time
It is used for many things as in throwing a heavy object that is bound to drop for example if you throw a spear its going to arch so u need to aim higher and throw harder for more distnace
What does an orbit do?
an orbit is a circle around something like how the earth takes 365 days to orbit the sun
