Adults - mild/moderate

Answer 1

Salbutamol pMDI and spacer, 4-12 doses, 20min intervals, 4 breaths per dose

Question 2

Adults - severe

Answer 2

• Salbutamol 10mg (5mL) and Ipratropium Bromide 500mcg (2mL) nebulised, repeat salbutamol 5mg every 5 minutes
• Dexamethasone 8mg IV/oral
• Adrenaline 500mcg (IM), repeat 5-10 minute intervals (max 1.5mg)

Question 3

Paeds - mild/moderate

Answer 3

Salbutamol pMDI and spacer, 4 breaths per minute, 20 minute intervals
> 6 years: 4-12 doses
2-5 years: 2-6 doses

Question 4

Paeds - severe

Answer 4

• Salbutamol nebulised, repeat at 20 minute intervals
  2-4 years: 2.5mg nebulised (1.25mL)
  5-11 years: 2.5-5mg nebulised (1.25-2.5mL)
• Ipratropium Bromide 250mcg (1mL) nebulised

Question 5

Paeds - critical

Answer 5

• Salbutamol 10mg (5mL) nebulised, 5min intervals
• Ipratropium Bromide 250mcg (1mL) nebulised
• Adrenaline 10mcg/kg (IM), repet 5-10min, 30mcg/kg max
• Dexamethasone 600mcg/kg, max 12mg
