The oldest art was found in Blombos Cave in south africa. Found human materials dating back to 75,000 years ago such- bones and stone along with red ochre

Paleolithic cave paintings. Showed capability of symbolic expression and thought.

Pintupi “dot painting” -Myers
Fred myers- work on native australian painters- people have mental maps of landscape- people needed money so they started selling their paintings- painting are with dots to represent life before humans- they created a new form of art
