Arrhythmia Types Flashcards
A Fib
-no P wave, no PRI, brief QR
See ventricular rate
A flutter ("saw tooth fence") -no P wave, no PRI, regular
ACUTE, usually converts back to NSR or Afib
SVT
-any atrial rhythm like A fib, A flutter, jTach
Junctional escape
- regular
- inverted, absent P waves
SA node stopped working, AV took over
Concern: Rx of CO loss (no atrial kick)
1st degree block (“with sinus brady” etc)
-PRI >0.20
2nd degree Type 1
-irregular, PRI incr til 1 disappears
STABLE
2nd degree Type 2
- regular, PRI constant
- more P waves than QRS complexes
UNSTABLE
PVC (w/ another rhythm)
- usually regular
- premature beats
- no PRI
- QRS is weird
3rd degree block
- more P waves than QRS complexes
- random PRI
- not consistent
V Tach
- not in sync with QRS
- P waves might not be visible
Torsades de Pointes
-VTach w/ long QT
Between VT and VF
prolong QT might be only warning!
V Fib
-chaotic, squiggly
Pt is unresponsive, apnea, pulseless
Can be caused by MI/HF, hypoK/Mag
Asystole
- NO rate/rhythm/pulse/CO
- may have some atrial activity
Causes: PATCH HHMD (PE, acidosis, tension pneumonia, cardiac tamponade, hypovol, hypoxia, temp, OD on meds
