Q

What are the three body planes?

A

Sagittal, frontal/coronal and traverse / horizontal.

- worth noting that some consider the oblique section part of the planes

17
Q

Explain the sagittal body plane.

A

It’s a vertical plane that divides the body into right and left parts. It also includes two subdivisions : midsagittal / median and parasagittal

18
Q

Explain the midsagittal / median plane.

A

A straight line down the centre of the body, resulting in two halves

19
Q

Explain the parasagittal plane.

A

A straight line that is down the centre of the body, it does not result in two equal parts

20
Q

Explain the frontal / coronal plane.

A

A vertical plane that divides the body into anterior and posterior parts
