What is the aim?
A
The aim of the study is a precise statement of why the study is taking place, for example to find out the effects of stress on memory.

What is the hypothesis?
A
A precise prediction about what is expected to happen for example, the more stressed people are the worse their memory will be.

What is a directional hypothesis?
A
This predicts the exact direct of the result for example, boys will do better on the math test than girls.

What is a non-directional hypothesis?
A
This predicts that there will be a difference but not the direction of the result for example, there will be a difference in how well people score on a maths test.
