A
- A state of vulnerability to poor resolution of homeostasis following a stressor event .A consequence fo culumative decline in many physiological systems during a lifetime
- Culmulative decline depeletes homeostatic reserves until minor stressors trigger a disproprtionate change in health status

What characteristics are used to determine frailty?
A
- unitentional weight loss (>4.5kg/ past year)
- <2Oth population centile for grip strength
- Self reported exhaustion
- Low physical activity such that persons woulf only rarely undertake a short walk
- Slowed walking speed, defined as lowest population quartile on 4 min walking test
