Aerobic Respiration Flashcards
Define aerobic respiration
The chemical reaction with oxygen
State the chemical reaction in aerobic respiration
Oxygen +glucose -> co2 + water
Define plasma
Liquid of red blood cell that carries co2 to lungs to be exhales
Carries glucose as well
Define haemaglobin
Substance in blood that carries oxygen to be pumped around the body
Define mitochondria
Part of cell where respiration takes place
State how respiration occurs
For example, the finger.
Glucose is founded in the blood
The red blood cells retrieve oxygen from the lungs
Once that blood is oxygenated than it flows to parts of the body
That blood cell moves to the finger and when it reaches that spot the chemical reaction of respiration is taken place
Waste products attach onto the red blood cell to be released through exhalation
State the chemical reaction for combustion of fuels
Fuel+ oxygen -> co2 + water (+energy, heat/light)
