Advanced RCC (Chap 104 12th ed) Flashcards
1
Q
What are the predictors of failure of systemic therapy?
A
Several patient and/or disease characteristics appear to influence
outcome; patients with poor performance status, comorbid medical
conditions, rapidly progressive disease, presence of brain
metastases, and so on, are unlikely to benefit from this approach.
2
Q
What factors are associated with improved outcome after metastasectomy?
A
Several factors are associated with an improved outcome after
metastasectomy, including complete resection, presence of solitary
metastatic lesions, age younger than 60 years, smaller tumor size,
presence of pulmonary metastases, and development of
metachronous metastatic disease.
