Pt unable to walk, next step?
Assess breathing
Pt not breathing, next step?
Life saving interventions:
Control major bleeding
Open airway
Chest decompression
Pt not breathing initially but begins breathing after life saving intervention?
Red tag/immediate
Pt still not breathing even after lifesaver interventions?
Black tag/deceased
If pt is not ambulatory but is breathing, next you assess?
Resp rate
If pt is not ambulatory but is breathing and resp rate is >30?
Red tag/immediate
If pt is breathing with resp rate <30?
Assess perfusion (cap refill and radial pulses)
If pt is breathing an has inadequate perfusion (cap refill/radial pulses)?
Red tag/immediate
If pt is not ambulatory but is breathing and has good perfusion next you assess?
Mental status (obeys commands)
If pt is not ambulatory, is breathing, has adequate perfusion and normal mental status?
Yellow tag/delayed
Only way someone can be a yellow tag?
Pt is not ambulatory but all other findings are normal
Pt is not ambulatory, is breathing, has resps <30, good perfusion but AMS?
Red tag/immediate
