Why is hydrocortisone and fludrocortisone the first line management of Addison’s?
A
The main hormones that are deficient are cortisol and aldosterone in Addisons.
Hydrocortisone is used to replace cortisol.
Fludrocortisone replaces aldosterone.
This combination of medication helps to maintain the balance of these hormones in the body.
